Join the foe community, and in our time together we aim to get to know your skills and interests, help develop them while offering a space to contribute your ideas and empower each other It’s a great way to exchange skills and share stories about food and reducing waste.

Together coordinators, cooks, community programs and volunteer run the Food Co-op & Cafe, meaning that rostered volunteer workers play a huge role in our daily runnings! By getting involved in the Food Co-op, our volunteers are helping our social enterprise continue to flourish.

All volunteers receive 15% of groceries and lunch is provided plus lovely drinks.

the roster

The volunteer roster involves a four-hour shift (ideally once a week), either from 10-2 or 1-5 on weekdays + saturdays, or 11-3 on sundays, and includes a drink while you work, as well as lunch either before or after your shift, depending on what time you start. The morning shift generally includes kitchen work, while the afternoon will focus more on the grocery shop (of course, this can vary depending on the jobs that need to be done). We are also always working on waste reducing projects and other community actions that need volunteer support.

for more information about the program, please talk to a friendly staff member in store, or give us a call if you don’t live locally!
